I initially pronounced it skiirim until it dawned on me that it's the two words Sky & Rim.
Then again I pronounce Asus as 'Ass us' and not 'Ass ooos'.
Feck it, I just can't speak proper like.

I had this conversation the other day. In my head I always pronounced it Skrym. Saying out loud, I wondered why people looked confused

Might be what's happening, though I've only pressed it once at a time. I've pronounced those words as Sky-Rim and Ace-uss.

That's either Lacky or La See. Or it could be Lacy.

Either as la-key or la-see, depending on my mood.
I once recall interpreting "lenovo" as "levono" until I read it out aloud in my head whilst at some company reception area trying to find out some info.

Bought it, installing and goes to steam update. Estimating six hours. SIX HOURS! Does it really take this long?
At least I have time to look at the manual.
Edit:looked online. You have to FORCE the game to install from the disk. WTF?

£27.99 delivered for the physical box £34.99 on Steam With or without the map, I'm willing to wait a few days to save the money. I probably won't have time to start playing for over a week anyway.

I ordered mine from Amazon on Monday night (I think) and it arrived by Thursday. In 'A1' packaging which is basically two flat sheets of card (not even cardboard) so could easily fit through the letterbox.

I'm just not happy with Skyrim ATM and this seems to boil down to two things:
- sound. It's very quiet, despite turning up the volume on my laptop and ensuring ingame volume is up. I don't have this problem when listening to music/watching videos. - controls. Very fiddly but made worse by the lack of a proper mouse.
I just don't feel as immersed as I did with Morrowind but then realistically I've only just started with game and have just reached Riverwood I think (the dude's uncle who's a smithy).

Throw away the keyboard and mouse and buy a XBox 360 controller. Seriously, the game is a million percent better using it and you don't have to fork out £60 or whatever for a gaming mouse. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Xbox- ... 788&sr=8-2

I've not found using a mouse and keyboard to be that much of a problem tbh.
However the sound can be infuriating at times. There are one or two voice actors who are remarkably indistinct to the point I've had to turn on sub-titles.
Other than that it's just staggeringly awesome in every regard. I've done most of the thieves guild, goodly chunks of the companions guild and started with both the Dark Brotherhood and the mages guild. Other than that I've spent a lot of time doing ad-hoc bits all over the place.

I ended up getting a mouse. Much easier already. Agree with the voices, which is why I have subtitles on.
