LOL! I played a little bit today whilst my iPhone was busy syncing with iTunes. I ventured into Solitude but didn't really do much.

That is a glorious sentence. Sigged.

I'm currently saving up in order to buy a house in Solitude, as it's one of the requirements there for becoming a Thane. Damned thing costs 25,000 gold though, which is taking a while to reach.

I keep getting to around 1500 and then spending most of it Although I'm lvl 7 now and still wearing the same robes from lvl 3 or 4. I haven't seen any decent mage clothes at all. There is a nice Circlet of Destruction but it costs around 1600 gold!

I've certainly come across some reasonable mages robes (I am level 18 now mind), and it wouldn't require you to buy them either. Won't say any more unless asked as I don't want to spoil things for you.

Yeah, I imagine the best stuff is either found, made or won (that's usually the way). Anyway, I may have to put the game on hold as I need to concentrate on this app I'm writing.

Is this the game where you can throw a bear? Charlie Brooker was going on about that on Twitter last week.

Broken PS3 Skyrim was inevitable, is inexcusable, and is probably your fault Bethesda has got away with far too much for far too long http://www.gamesradar.com/high-horse-br ... our-fault/That's true of games in general these days IMO

After listening to a bunch of friends rave about this for several hours (seriously - hours!), I think I may buy it. However - my best PC is pretty old. It beats the minimum spec but realistically, what sort of quality will I be able to play it at? Monitor wise I have 2048x1152 23" on my main PC and a 42" 1080p on the media centre, which I tend to use for gaming and generally achieves a similar frame-rate despite the low power CPU and graphics. Core2duo E4500 2.2GHz 4GB DDR2 GT430 1GB DDR3 Various flashing lights in red, green, blue and white. Win XP 32 or: Atom D525 1.8GHz dual core with hyperthreading 2GB DDR3 nVidea ION Thanks

Read a piece somewhere else that someone managed to run Skyrim at 1280x1024 on a 32MB GPU!
I'd definitely go for the first of your rigs; you'll certainly get something emminently playable still, just maybe not with all the AA cranked up.
Bear in mind that you'll get massively higher framerates when you are in indoors in the game than outside; so if you're checking things then make sure you do it whilst outside.
