Okay, my 360 is having issues here.

Whenever i try and play a song/album/music from either my USB stick or iPod connected to the 360, it decides to throw a tantrum and not work as intended.

It will either play normally for the first few songs and then subsequently stop in between tracks as if it can't read the device. Or, when selecting music i select the device and it just gives me the "Please Wait" screen for ages (have left it alone for a few minutes and still nothing) and although the animation plays, it will subsequently freeze if i press any button until i remove the device.

This is really pissing me off since i can't be asked to go about ripping every CD i own onto the 360. It's currently coping with streaming from the PC although i remember this having issues as well after a while.

Any help would be useful =].

Did you download the optional media add on for the ipod?

Might be worth clearing your cache and downloading it again (its free after all)

tried a different ipod & cable/usb port?

Funnily enough the iPod actually started working although there's a definite pause between tracks (20-30 seconds ?). Just glad that's alright.

USB stick still doesn't read though no matter the USB port and streaming fromt he computer decides to just stop after one song as well now =/.

Hmmm...

As Fin said clearing your cache and downloading the optional media update might be the way forward. I've forgotten how to clear the cache (It's something like hold L+R and tap YYXXAAYY whilst in the "details" tab of your hard drive or something completely different) but that usually fixes some of the strange little problems the box gets.

Either that or you've got a dodgy xbox, which is also quite likely. Check warrantly as M$ are pretty damned good at getting your stuff fixed/replaced, although they replaced my DVD drive, graphics chip ( - WTF - ) and motherboard before deciding to replace my console resulting in about 2 months of no gaming =( All because the bloody thing wouldn't read discs!
