I can totally see where he's coming from, even though I don't actually buy much video game merch. On the off-chance you find yourself in the same position, NECA does good quality stuff across all genres, old and new IPs.

It wouldn't be pointless tat to him

If he's anything like me, he likes his 'art' to actually look recognisable. In his case that means video game characters etc who have struck a chord with him.

I think the subtext is that you have billion dollar franchises in some cases yet not much merch, which does seems backward in these meta-enlightened times.
