BBC Video Clicky I don't own an iPhone but I would be concerned with this. My hands can get very sweaty in winter, yet alone on a hot day, so I would be pretty annoyed if the sensor gave a false positive. Have you checked your's recently? |

Mine are both gone, and my phone has never had any form of substantial contact with water at all. I was refused a repair on that basis, although the issue was somewhat minor so I have survived with it for a fair few months. |

It’s the exposed dock connector which lets liquids in - or rather condensation. If that can be plugged up when not needed, the sensors may be less sensitive. |

There are two more sensors inside the device. According to Apple all four need to have been triggered to invalidate the warranty. |

From what I recall, only two were checked when mine was looked at, the one by the main socket, and one inside the jack socket. |

According to the BBC spot on Watchdog last week, the Apple Store people won’t open up iPhones to check them. |

Fascinating. They certainly refused to do anything about the problem on the basis of simply looking at those two. |

Yes, but according to the official Apple statement on the same program, all four sensors need to have been triggered for a warranty to be invalid. I guess you've got to stamp your feet a little bit and get talking to the right person in the store. *shrug* |
