I wonder if she's any good with global economies...

I could hear the sound of back-pedalling coming from 10 Downing Street last night, when it was announced El Gordo was reconsidering this.

If someone is prepared to sacrifice there life on behalf of this country the least we can do is say "you can live here"

if anyone deserves the right to live here then these people from Nepal deserve that right
its a right that they have earned with 200 years of service to the Crown

i have had the privilege of serving and exercising with these men
they are everything that is stated and more but for themselves they ask nothing
only too serve, a verdict that truly rewards them for all they have achieved

its a very sorry state that it had to go this far and took this amount of time for recognition …

That probably sums up our government rather well in my opinion.

It just goes to show how mindless the government is, that it thought it would get away with treating the Gurkhas like sh1t :x

Though saying that, how long would all this have been dragged out for (if ever resolved) unless a 'star' had gotten involved?

Hats off to Joanna Lumley 8-)

I had to agree with you at least once, and this time it's 100%.

If they hadn't agreed, I think there would have been a serious call for some (new) Avengeance.

I can't think of one better example of folk who deserves our respect, admiration and gratitude. They're more "British" than many people who wave the flag...
