That's quite interesting.

Presumably, if you can trace an outbreak back to a single person, you can sue them for criminal negligence - especially if their bad hygiene caused deaths. That might make sick people think twice before going to public places (such as hospitals) and spreading the disease.

I'm doing some work on microbial bioinformatics at the moment and I'm getting really into it.

BTW the instruments they used for this study kick out multiple terrabytes of data for each experiment. :shock:
