I want it.

20MB isn't fast enough (although the stupid fair use policy defeats the point of it).

At 200MB if you could sownload that fast you could hit the 350MB "hidden cap" in just under 2 seconds. WHat fun.

These headline speeds are all very well but I'd much rather they got rid of the download throttling before they start pushing for faster headline speeds.

Mind you, I suppose "everyone getting the service they've paid for, all day every day" isn't as eye catching as "super-dooper 200mb downloads".

+1

I'd be much happier with 20MB all the time

Checked the facts as I started to think about the 20MB thing (already available on some ADSL2 exchanges now) and what I was getting confused with is the planned upgrade to ADSL2+ 24MB

Better than the so called 'upto' 8MB I'm getting anyway!

Agreed I would prefer a consistent service regardless of time of day. I have turn things off at 4 pm as it is just to stop breaching the download caps between those times.

Same here reliable speeds rather than theoretically achievable very high-speed would be more preferable to me.

It's pretty much pointless for me, as I would never go near Virgin (ntl) as their customer support is beyond crap. IMO

I thought you hit the download cap just by turning your modem on?

Agreed with the caps. Unless the entire infrastructure is overhauled to deal with higher-speeds, 200MB is pointless. Let's deal with getting a minimum of 2Mbps at all times before going further.

Still on "upto" 8megs here. Although I do get over 6megs most of the time.

I think my exchange is due to be upgraded in 2010 - to accommodate upto 16megs.

So, by the time we get it, it'll be obselete. Yay!
