It's hardly shocking, but I'm guessing it's unusual for a Home Affairs Select Committee hearing on the cocaine trade :)

I would like to see the police and the BBC take a much tougher stance on cocaine. It is tremendously harmful to the people of Columbia who get caught up in the trade. May a few high profile career ending busts would clean up the industry for once and for all. The government should give it a life ban from working on TV either in front or behind the camera. Killing the careers of a few over paid celebs would be good for everyone. It would not make it glamorous and would send a tough signal to the rest of the industry.

Richard Bacon for instance, is probably more recognised (and earning more money) now than he ever was on Blue Peter - there's very little you can't come back from regarding coke in TV land, Deayton being another example.
