The Daily Mail is calling for a web browser alert that criticises its journalism to be changed.

The NewsGuard plug-in currently brings up a warning that says the newspaper's website "generally fails to maintain basic standards of accuracy and accountability".

It has given this advice since August.

But the matter came to prominence last week, after Microsoft updated its Edge browser app for Android and iOS devices and built in NewsGuard.

Yeah, I saw the story about NewsGuard yesterday and thought it wouldn't be long before the Daily Fail threw its toys out the pram.

It is interesting that they didn't bother to respond to NewsGuard's requests for 6 months, until the product's data was included in Edge for mobile, now it is suddenly a problem, because the add-on gains publicity.

Something like "NewsGuard" scares me a hell of a lot more than something like Daily Mail, honestly. 1984 here we come!

Genuinely lolled at this when I read about it. I read the Daily Fail website for two reasons:
1. To troll (in the comments section)
2. To prepare for stuff that patients might bring up during consultations.
