Um, actually, I'd always assumed that was not uncommon. At least it's the only way to explain some of the Google search results I get.

I usually just type the keywords of a story into Google Toolbar and click the News icon or use my news feeds in iGoogle - I rarely even go to the Google homepage these days :)

But there's a lot of people who may want answers and/or use it as a stick to beat the BBC with, as the article suggests.

As I said on the original article, yesterday, this is standard practice in marketing these days.

If Sky were too slow out of the gate, that is there problem, not the BBCs.
