Police and paramedics have rushed to the scene of what is believed to be a stabbing outside County Hall in Chelmsford.

The incident happened on Market Road near the Essex County Council HQ and Chelmsford library today (June 4) at around 11.20am.

And I was in town this morning, and certainly before the time in the article, there were a lot of blood drips trough the High Chelmer shopping centre. All the way though, from the Tindal Street entrance to the market. Big drips too - some three or four cm across, I reckon. Also, a lot of police - at least three cars in the high street and heading towards the town hall.

While I was having some tea, two ambulances and an air ambulance critical support car passed by to the downhill, which is where the video in the article linked to was shot. The trail of blood ran (literally) from there to Tindal Street, and, hooray, blood around where I had left my bike, so I had to check that it wasn’t affected. I also went and asked a nearby police officer if I could move it - they were doing crime scene swabbing in the shopping centre and I didn’t want to disturb anything. They said I could, so I came home.

So that was interesting.

lots of stabbings everywhere, law enforcement underfunded, handcuffed and invisible. CPS not fit for purpose. courts handicapped. prisons overflowing. things can only get better ...

This seemed to be a full on fight from what the news outlets are saying. The arrested man was the one who collapsed outside the town hall. They’re looking for another perosn as well.

Holy thread revival, Batman!

An update on this - there has been a conviction.

Quote:
An 18-year-old drug dealer has been jailed after stabbing a teenager in the leg in Chelmsford High Street in broad daylight.

Imran Bukhari, of New Street, stabbed his victim after an altercation in the High Street just before 10.40am on June 4, 2018.

Both were stabbed during the incident, with Bukhari’s victim requiring surgery for a wound on his leg.
