A 26-year-old woman has been arrested after an abusive note was left on an ambulance dealing with a 999 call.

The hand-written message, in which the writer said she did not care "if the whole street collapsed", was left in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, on Sunday.

Ch Insp John Owen from Staffordshire Police said the woman was arrested for public order offences.

Good. What a stupid, selfish thing to do in the first place.

Good that it's happened but the person wasn't arrested because of the note:

the arrest related to matters of verbal abuse

That's what caused it to happen. Personally, I think any sort of harrassment or abuse towards the emergency services should be met with fines and/or jail time. I imagine people who write these notes to be the same who would rant about the services if they took even a minute longer than expected.

There was a case over here, where somebody physically attacked an ambulance crew for double parking on a street and helping somebody who had collapsed with a heart attack.

Good. Make an example before it becomes the socially acceptable norm.

a true story from several years ago ...

an ambulance was parked in the supermarket car park, the crew treating a suspected heart attack patient. the ambulance was parked across the rear of a parked car.
an elderly man came to this car and placed his shopping in the boot. he had a walking stick. he approached the ambulance and repeatedly banged his walking stick on the side door of the ambulance. after a few seconds the side door opened and a crew member asked 'can i help'. the elderly man said 'can you move my shopping is defrosting'. the crew member answered 'we are treating a heart attack patient'. the elderly man replied 'what about my shopping just move'.

i left at that point and returned to work.

i have seen much worse then that, such as someone who was receiving treatment who had collapsed in store, they were treading over them to get too there buy one get one free. i gave up hope after that ...

in marxist England(istan) it is the norm, you get police now going to your door investigating homophobic slurs and other petty reasons etc etc, UK is screwed...

As a GP, I've had a couple of patients (and it was only two over the last five years or so) complain about having to wait to be seen because the patient in front of them required me to call an ambulance. They didn't care that the person in front required emergency medical attention.
F**kwits.

Sadly, not an offence yet. I would expect that she’s been given a good talking to by the police about the note though.
