I wonder how many advertisers are considering this as a tactic, and who will be the first to deploy an advert that triggers a purchase.

This has been known since it was released. The same for OK Google, Cortana and Siri.

Podcasters have been using "Amazon Echo" instead of Alexa since its release, because of this issue and they try not to name the other services either, although "OK Google" can sometimes be activated by just Google or "oh, Google".

There was an XBox ad, just after Kinect came out and the person doing the ad showed off the XBox doing certain things and anybody with a Kinect found there XBox mimicing the ad, especially annoying for those that were watching a video on the XBox and the ad told the XBox to switch off!

There was also a bloke whose XBox online handle was similar - I think it was 'Xbox log off' maybe. People would shout at him in online games and it'd drop them out of the game :D

Happened on my iPhone the other day, something spoken on a TV programme must have sounded a bit like "Hey Siri" and my iPhone sprung into life. Rewound it to make sure and did it again. Strange thing is it was a woman's voice - don't know if to be offended by that!!
