Plans to keep a record of UK citizens' online activities face a challenge from tech firms seeking to offer ways to hide people's browser histories.

Internet providers will soon be required to record which services their customers' devices connect to - including websites and messaging apps.

The Home Office says it will help combat terrorism, but critics have described it as a "snoopers' charter".

Basically, VPN or Tor. The idea that data will be safe, secure, and unhackable is, well, laughable.

Can I just leave my data on public transport the way those [LIFTED] do and save the country money?

Internet providers will be forced to keep a full record of every site that each one of its customers have visited

Oh yeah, cos councils and even the binmen have in no way been caught abusing such powers in the past. Or been hacked silly. I'm sick of being kept under thumb by ignorant politicians and their evil cnut scaremongers. It's not about safety, it's about control of every individual. And not even just in the UK!

But a nice quote towards the end

Quote:
As an ordinary citizen with a life, you can’t hide from the security services, any more than you can defend your house against a tank regiment. If they want to hack your devices, they will
