White House to keep visitor logs secret - BBC News
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-39601573

Yet another thing he's reversed ferreted on this week. Put it alongside, Nato, Syria, and Afghanistan.

Quote:
White House officials said on Friday they would no longer maintain the web page and said it would save taxpayers $70,000 (£55,867) by 2020.

I don't know what's worse; that they likely made that up, or that they paid someone to find out. And then embellished it. Probably.

Apparently they haven't appointed anyone yet who should take part in the 'easter egg rolling' (aside : WTF?) so all the people who were supposed to be involved were actually employed by the Obama administration. I suspect quite a few of them told him to get stuffed, or equivalent.

Four months into his presidency and they can't find someone on the payroll to roll an easter egg. Or apparently find their own arse with either hand.

Ever come across a board game called Junta? It’s a great on to play, BTW. Anyway, I do get the feeling that we’re watching a round of it being played from the White House. I half expect Trump to come back as his brother in law at some time.

That's the sort of game I'd love to try but I've nobody willing/smart enough to play it with!

Trump says he's not under investigation, even though he admitted he had been 3 times in his letter to Comey, and if his campaign team and cabinet members are, he has to be as an accessory at best.

He also accused Comey of showboating! I genuinely think that was the real problem, Trump thought Comey had an ego to rival his own.

No he didn't, his letter said Comey confirmed 3 times that he wasn't personally under investigation - he's the exact passage (taken from CNN):

Quote:
While I greatly appreciate you informing me. on three separate occasions. that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau.

While I'm finding Scott Adams Trump cheer-leading irritating his analysis of the persuasion that's going on is interesting. The passage about him not being under investigation was just odd but it got picked up by every single news outlet covering the story (which was all of them pretty much). Repetition sticks in the mind and every news show and newspaper have been parroting that Trump himself was confirmed 3 times to not have personally been under investigation.
Whatever else people remember about this one of them will be that Trump himself wasn't under investigation. It may not ultimately do him any good in the long run but however much it irks me to say it he's very, very good at playing the media and getting them to say pretty much exactly what he wants as far as key messages go.

The bit about showboating was hysterical however. It takes one to know one I guess.

Sorry, that's what I get for reading things when I've just woken up!

But either way, why would you have to ask 3 bloody times if you were under investigation if you weren't dodgy? That would at least make you paranoid about your surrounding circumstances.

And as I've said, if your cabinet is being looked into en masse, and they have to be otherwise the FBI investigation really is a joke, then you have to be looked at too.

The Russian angle is killing Trump. His team have a script and he won't stick to it. But equally, his contradictions are why the media let him get away with it. It's almost about ratings. They're currently enjoying the show. Trump will only go when the media can't/won't cover for him any more.

Yes ... and no. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junta_(governing_body)

The game is great. I used to play it a lot, and you could lose a day to it. It’s based around a banana republic, and each player had a role within the government (this will change through assassinations, coups, etc). The aim is to cream as much money off the international aid programme and syphon it into your Swiss bank account. The winner of the game is the person with the most money in Switzerland at the end of the game.

The “brother in law” reference is from the game. If you are assassination, you sit out a turn. You then come back as your dead character’s brother in law. Nepotism is fun, eh?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Junta_(game)

It was actually a difficult game to get hold of. I knew some people in Bristol who had a copy, but nowhere near sold it. Someone I know eventually got hold of a copy by mail order from the USA (this is pre internet times). My group of friends would end up playing it more regularly after that. Great fun.

FBI chief sacking: Trump warns Comey over leaks to media - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-39899542

He's turning America into a banana republic with each passing day.

I wonder will the security services ever draw a line under him after Comey?
