Accident and emergency delays at an Essex hospital left more than a dozen ambulances having to queue up in two separate rows to drop off patients.


At 17:30 GMT there were 11 ambulances, two St John Ambulances and an ambulance car waiting outside Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford.

The East of England Ambulance Service said the problems had affected patient care and put pressure on its crews.

The hospital is yet to comment on the situation.
