Over here we've seen what he's talking about, and it's now guaranteed to get worse with our own cuts. Quite apart from the effect it has on patrols etc, morale nosedives. It only takes a few people to go off sick or with injuries and the whole thing falls apart. Those who are left take on extra shifts, costing even more money in overtime, then promptly go off with stress once they and their immediate boss start taking the tension out on each other.
Not that any of this will matter to the Tories. They've made it quite obvious they'd like to privatise the police like they've done with everything else (not that the other two are any better).
