I think it is more upper middle class than any other segment. Look at the numbers of private schoolboys and girls in the House of Commons. Then add the numbers of accountants, lawyers and company directors. If you take them and the Oxbridge PPE students out you would find the numbers probably down to almost single digits. Prescott and Johnson are two of the handful of working class people in Parliament. It is hardly representative of the middle class and certainly not the average person in the UK. Labour are more representative but they are struggling sometimes. Also adding military officers would actually make it even more middle class. The average officer still went to private school. |
