Quote:
The gaming hobby of a political candidate has become an issue in a state senate race in New England, US.

Maine Republicans have created a webpage revealing that Democrat candidate Colleen Lachowicz plays an orc rogue in World of Warcraft (WoW).

Ms Lachowicz's liking for back-stabbing and poison in WoW raise questions about her "fitness for office", they claim.

The Republicans have really lost the plot now. Seemingly they cannot destinguish between reality and a computer game.

Completely agree. I do not care whether a member of parliament of whatever party is on WOW. In fact I would be impressed that they took part and were probably more tech savvy than the rest of government. What would interest me was whether they actively played and so built up their character or bought it online so to get credibility like MP's claiming to like Dizzy Rascal or some thrash metal band.

I'd have a little more respect for a politician who had pwned me on counterstrike.

This is just another example of people who are unable to accept that gaming has grown up - insofar as it has grown with a generation, who still play.

Maybe that's how politicians should win votes. In a deathmatch. 8-)

I'd go for that. if only because it means there'd only be half as many of them left by the end of it.

Republicans - quite happy for you to own a gun and shoot trespassers, don't want you "killing" things in games.

Hey! That isn't really fair if she is more of a PvE player. TBH, I wish more American politics was PvE rather than PvP too...

Now, now, less of that logical thinking please. Downright unacceptable.
