If there are security updates I see no reason to stop using it.

Aside from bug fixes and security updates, what more can they do with their mail client?

According to The Verge, looks like Mozilla will stop patching on 20/11/13....

I like TBird - I've been using it for the last three or four years, and I don't want to change again.
