It's good news indeed.

As for Windows 8 - it doesn't actually exist in retail form yet. Any negative opinions are to my mind a little premature. I can confirm that Steam and all the games I've tried so far work on it actually better than they did on XP (I skipped Vista and 7).

Assuming that Steams customer base is 75%+ windows users (a guess) of various flavours and as thime goes on W8 will become a bigger percentage I cant really see them not supporting it

I'd guess it's significantly more than that frankly. If 5% (let alone 25%) of Steam users are on Mac I'd be amazed.
