The issue I have with this is that once you can veto HR laws for one reason there will be a tendency for the veto's to creep into other areas.

I, somewhat unexpectedly, find myself in total agreement with Mr. Clarke when he says:

He added: "When some official, some policeman, whoever, has made some mistake in taking some absurd decision, the first thing they do to fend off criticism is to blame it on health and safety and blame it on human rights. The truth is that someone's made a pig's ear in the office."


The problem will be not throwing the baby out with the bath water.
