There was another fiddler who has been to prison who is whining about getting back in the House.
It's not a normal job, the basis of the job is trust. They should be banned for life and serve time for crimes they commit if they haven't already.

If she can't pay it back she should be forced to work without her allowed expenses (and maybe wages) until the cost to her is the same as what she owes.

The system that allows her to retain her title needs overhauling.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

How very distasteful.
MPs have been getting custodial sentences, and been kicked out of parliament, for a tenth of that amount.

She could get incarcerated but the only person who could kick her out of the HoL is the Queen. She bestows the titles (technically), she's the only one who could take them away. They've only legally been able to resign since the 1960's. IIRC when Jeffery Archer got thrown in the clink, it was generally considered it would take an Act of Parliament to get him out of the HoL.

I misread that as 'incinerated'.

It’s another case of the élite looking after itself again. They just don‘t like following the rules, do they?
