"Indiana Jones is old school, we've moved on from Indy, sorry Harrison Ford." (8+) BBC clicky. Mark |

I saw a clip for that programme on BBC1, 830 on Monday isn't it? Will be setting that to record. |

Well the next Indiana Jones film will be set in a room with lots of satellite monitoring screens. Not much action though. ![]() |

It would Indiana Jr Jr, then, because the last film was set in the 1950s. Harrison Ford's character would be into his second century if it were set today. ![]() |

Henry Jr Jr Jr to be precise. Indiana was the dogs name. |

I stand corrected. I'm not that deeply into the films, just Mr Harrison. ![]() |

I'm probably wrong myself as I can't remember the name of Indy's son in the Crystal Skull film. That's Shia La Bouef for you, memorable. |

I believe he was named for his father. Hence my original comment. I saw this plot point as a potential for extending the franchise beyond Harrison Ford, though I'm not sure Shia could carry it off in quite the same way. |

Shia’s range can be summed up in one elongated exclamation: “waaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!” In the meantime, I’ve been catching up with my recordings of Time Team and just got to the Geophysics Episode. Staged argument between Phil Harding and John Gator in a pub about where archaeology is going with all this high tech kit. Result: you still have to dig. |

I'm not getting that reference, and it's annoying bearing in mind how I've followed SG over the years. My first alternative film/show thought was AvP. |

I'd love to see what they'd get from the supposedly virgin Amazonian rainforest - due to tree felling it's become clear there's lost cities that you literally wouldn't have seen for the trees. How effective is this stuff at looking through a tree canopy I wonder? |

Ah, you need LIDAR for that. Laser scanning the terrain finds all kinds of interesting stuff. In fact, Time Team did a dig in woods this past series, on a Roman fort or town. The full scope of the remains could only be seen from the 3D laser scan. Rather cool, I thought. |

My brother-in-law is doing an archaeology Phd and finds Time Team to be the most infuriating program going. Almost complete disregard for standard process and they draw far, far bigger conclusions than is actually realistic on the basis of the amount of information available to them. It's really fun to get him ranting on the subject as well ![]() |

I think anyone with a little knowledge in a subject will be infuriated when they see a TV show portraying the same. |
