LMAO Oh yeah right and who will own it? So we are paying for BT infrastructure again?
LMAO, well they have been totally toothless in using the powers they already have. |

When does this new charge come in? Does this mean BT will have to change their pricing structure & terms and conditions, which will be to my detriment and thus I can tell them to shove it? ![]() |

I'll need a new phone line when I move shortly, so that will be interesting. As far as 50mps goes - why? 3-5 does me fine. There's nothing that warrants that kind of bandwidth unless you're a serious pirate (or addicted to HD porn). Not to mention, what will the upload speeds be. It's all bollocks. Same old, same old. |

Faster bb would be good for me at home when I have to build or repair a PC and need to download zillions of Micro$oft updates for them ![]() Got newsletter this week from Zen saying I should be on ADLS2 by end of this summer so going to get slightly quicker bb anyway. |

I'm pissed off with the media implying that these proposals are definitely gonna happen - I'd expect them to in some form, but I could do without the sensational headlines when nothing's definite yet ![]() A few thoughts... I don't see why we should effectively fund BT, no matter what the state of the nation's BB. Gordon Brown is so full of sh1t that I can smell it from here. "It is a contribution which we are asking people to make - it's six pounds a year - offset, as we make very clear in the report, by the likely continued reduction in headline prices because of the competitive market we have in this country," said report author Lord Carter. I can smell it off Lord Carter too - what if you don't want BB with it's 'continued reduction in headline prices', do you still have to pay? I think you would... It's especially dodgy considering fixed-line customers seem to have to fund the country's infrastructure, while VM customers like myself don't! ![]() 'Martha Lane Fox as a digital champion' - can we stop hiring public figures to do serious work unless they are genuinely qualified for such an important task, and not just some column inches grabber? And how much are these people being paid? 'Universal access to broadband by 2012' and 'digital radio upgrade by 2015' - Didn't we (obviously falsely) announce that we had universal access some time ago? ![]() ![]() Ofcom needs more powers like the Met needs more excuses to go into situations heavy-handed... A 'changed role for Channel 4'? Will it be worth tuning in for more than just the odd show again? ![]() ![]() '£130m of BBC licence fee to pay for ITV regional news' - Nothing like changing the rules once the public has already paid ![]() *I'm guessing it's to free up the spectrum or something... |

Oh, so they're only asking for it. We don't have pay it? Welcome to the new Telephone Tax. Anyone care to guess how long it will be before the sick squid per year starts creeping up? The governement have found a new revenue stream. I'm also interested in how much of the money will go towards Broadband, and how much will be diverted to other schemes. |

I am surprised that they haven’t recommended a computer license, or up the TV license to cover a certain number of computers in a household. |
