Continue reading here. Not the best technical article I've ever read, but in plain and simple terms - woohoo! I am also wondering if this will help Hackintoshers do their thing? |

It will still take ages for the OS to load, so what’s a few seconds? |

If the new BIOS makes the hardware abstraction layer simpler, then it could drastically reduce the time it takes Windows to boot. |

I managed to tweak my desktop to boot from power on to desktop screen in 30 seconds and that took effort to speed it up from 60 seconds plus. A few seconds is going to be okay but half of the time is still from log-in to desktop which I don't think this would help with? |

That's 99% down to how much crap you have set to load on your profile. A vanilla install goes from log-in to desktop in under 2 seconds on a modern PC. |
