Interest level = 0.
I'm not going to even bother seeing any of these versions.

It was bad enough, when they went back and re-did the SFX of the original films... I won't be giving out any money for this.

Ok, I'm conflicted.

ILM are the best there is. Period. Whilst the prequels are by and large, a little gash and the classic trilogy is a little old looking for 3Dification, if anyone can do it - they can.

Not saying they actually can, just that there the only ones with a shot at making 3Dification of a 2D movie work, at all. And of course, Episode I may be utter nonsense, but the podrace IS epic. Duel of the fates IS epic. Take Clones - imagine Yoda vs Dooku in 3D *IF* they pull it off. Don't even get me started on the visuals in Sith. All that before you get to the good films.

Whilst I'm reluctant, I think I might have to check it out (depending on the state of 3D whenever they come out). But I'd do it somewhere good, like a THX certified cinema.

I'm not. I'm really not.
I have no desire to watch eps. 1-3 again, let alone watch them in 3D.
I would also like them to fail. Dramatically.
Y'see, if they are a roaring success, Hollywood will take note, and it'll probably start to plunder its back catalogue for films to get the 3D process, only the studios won't apply nearly as much attention as what LucasFilm will to these Star Wars films, so they'll be somewhat lacklustre affairs at best, and that won't be good for cinema.

As mentioned in other threads I'm all for 3D, but this is just more money-grabbing from LucasFilm. Come on George let's have something new and original....or is that too much to ask from Hollywood? By all means make a new movie and make it in proper 3D, but the original trilogy is so old now and it is time the films were just left alone. A lot of the dialogue and acting is so poor that I don't see the point in dressing up the films in new clothes.

Well if you have no desire to see the prequels ever again, that's a different story. I own them on DVD and have probably watched them 2 or 3 times since I bought them (maybe 4 times for ep 3).

I can appreciate your reasons for wanting them to fail, but I don't HAVE to go see any other 3Dified movies. I would though, be intrigued to see what 3D can do for the Death Star, lightsabers, pods and Coruscant, to name but a few. Doesn't mean the films will get any better, and I wouldn't buy them again. But like I said, ILM are the best and the pure spectacle of it might interest me.

As for money-grabbing from Lucasfilm.... HERRRRRRO?!?!

They’ll just chalk it up against Babylon 5 and carry on. You know they will.

Anyway, Lucas has pots of money, and will no doubt be pondering the Indiana Jones films as ripe for 3D-ness.

It will not encourage me to go out and buy them again or even watch in 3D, unless it is on the telly.
