But who is capable of replacing him? I can’t see anyone in the Labour Party who could rescue them from the mess they are in.

I can't see anyone in parliament, let alone the Labour Party, who I'd think is a good candidate. :(
Can't we sack the lot of them and turn the whole thing into a job share?
Everyone of us has to turn up and have a go one day a year or something?

Cable. From the X-Men. ;)

No seriously, Vince Cable is about the only person in parliament I can think off who I'd even consider for the top job...

I think we are beyond a reshuffle. We need a general election to clear the air. I find myself agreeing with David Cameron on this. A general election will be cathartic, but I really think that the government is in such a mess that it can’t continue with any credibility.

Aww, thanks chaps.

I'm going to have a bash at running as an independent in my constituency. I am going to do it with the help of the Jury Team, so I'm waiting for them to open the primary rounds so I can see if I've got what it takes to get through the first stage. If that's successful, then I shall be standing against an incumbent Labour MP.

Should be an interesting time. It may take me a little longer to get my feet under the cabinet table in No 10, but the longest journey starts with the first step.

Jonathan Shaw is my local MP since 1997. I have to say he responded quickly, and personally, when I contacted him on a matter a couple of years ago. I have nothing against the man, but then his expenses - so far as I know - haven't come under scrutiny. This is interesting, though: Expenses for Jonathan Shaw.

If Gordon goes we get a General Election. Simples.
