clicky

What it found was that Vuze users are in fact freeloaders when it comes to buying digital content online—shocking, we know—but that they are actually "Hollywood's best customers" when it comes to spending money offline.

Quote:
In a typical year, Vuze users attended eight films in the theater; a typical Internet user went to six. Vuze users rented nine movies a year; non-P2P users rented seven. And Vuze users—who clearly know about P2P and have no problem putting it to use—actually purchase 16 DVDs a year. Typical Internet users buy only 13.

Damn those pesky P2P'ers. How dare they buy more stuff than joe average. They must be stopped!!!

I download stuff. Usually it's a TV series that either isn't shown in the United Kingdom, or isn't over here yet. I like to keep up with the latest House, Big Bang Theory etc and that normally means having to download it. However, having said that I always buy the DVD when it finally gets released. For example I'll be buying House Season 5 as soon as it's released.

Of course if Hulu does get launched in the United Kingdom then I probably won't need to use P2P any more.

The only person I know who visits the cinema regularly (and buys a lot of DVDs as well) is someone who we also call 'knock off Nigel' and use pirate accents when we talk to him.

What's worse
1) Someone who rarely illegally downloads and hardly buys DVD's or goes to the cinema?
2) Someone who regularly illegally downloads, but buys tonnes of DVD's and goes to the cinema every week?
3) Someone who regularly illegally downloads, and never buys DVD's and rarely goes to the cinema?
4) Someone who never downloads and hardly buys DVD's and rarely goes to the cinema?
5) Someone who never downloads and buys tonnes of DVD's and goes to the cinema every week?

In terms of the law, first being best and last being worst, I'd rank it like so:
5,4
2,1,3

Morally, I'd rank it as such:
5,4
2,1
3

Who is best for the media industry? 5 and 2!
