A strangely balanced blog from the Beeb's Mark Easton.

Clicky.

I can't say the comments are particularly balanced, but there you go.

Bollocks. That's the guy who might has well have been Gordon Brown, sat on the couch on "Breakfast", giving it the old "everything will be fine, it's for the best" nonsense. The scheme is wrong, the idea behind it is wrong, and the system that allows politicians to create policy against everybody's common sense is broken. But hey, what are you gonna do about it?

I can tell.

I didn't see the broadcast, only read the blog. To my mind the blog said the law is bad because it's all arse about face and missing the point.

Still, whichever, I'm actually agreeing with you.

Thanks Heather.
He was ridiculously biased and achieved the dubious honour of being the only person to make me shout at my TV in months.

Since writing that, I'm now having an incredibly frustrating day at work and that is not helping. But I will say this. If you do ever manage to get somewhere in your pursuit of truth, justice and the British way, I will gladly support you if I haven't found a way off this rock.

That's where compulsory CCTV inside your house and two-way televisions come in.

Denouncing people as paedophiles has long been a way of punishing and controlling people who might be a threat to the people who control us.

It's frustrating but unless anyone wants have an uprising or something it's a waste of time complaining, luckily I'm at work and bored, so I'm effectively getting paid to ferment unrest, so I'll probably be denounced as a paedophile or even worse a muslim.

It's funny since I proposed a revolution last week, I've noticed an increase in "police" helicopters and spotter planes everywhere I go, not that I'm paranoid or anything.

Muslims, they're worse than paedophiles.

You read it here first folks

Interestingly MPs are exempt. Go figure.

Eh?

Oh great. So they're introducing a new test for paedophilia but exempting government ministers. So the new 'safe' job for a paedophile would be 'government minister'.

I'll second that. Obviously our kids will be much safer when Paedophiles are running the country.

Hm... did someone leave the sarcasm detector on, I think it's bleeping again...

If your political views sit between a back-bench Tory and the BNP, that would probably be the case. Fortunately most of us are closer to the centre!

I don't believe in politics, like religion I don't think it's done any good for the world.

I'd like to believe in people, except most of them are wrapped up in a nebulous miasma of big tvs, big 4x4s, big mortgages fuelled by fear mongering, trivial third hand news and pointless obsession with celebrity generated by a government that is merely a puppet for big business.

By the way I'm not racist, I hate everyone.

I seem to find myself agreeing with you. I didn't expect that.
