Texas University team hack a UAV

iIRC there's already a case of the Afghan 'insurgents' doing the same thing, leading to an armed UAV crashing in Pakistan and the Pakistani government throwing a bit of a fit.

I can't think of any simple way to avoid it. The GPS satellites need encryption on a military channel, and I imagine retro-fitting them would be impossible given their age.

Easier & quicker (If you're the US military) to just throw up a new web of satellites and use them instead.
