Just won a Mamiya ZE 35mm body with a 28mm lens on it. :D
Which is completely what I need in my life - an obsolete camera system with lenses that are difficult to find. Awesome. 8-)

We can add a Mamiya ZE-2 with a 50mm lens on it and a flash gun to that equation as well. :D
Lovely, well built bodies, I must admit.
The Minolta X700 I was using in Lahndahn at the weekend has since decided that the LEDs in the 'finder don't work any more, meaning I was pointing and hoping for some of the shots.

I went to Jacobs at lunchtime meaning to by this: NIKON 50mm F1.8 AFD but the wife, (who I met there) insisted I buy a NIKON 50mm F1.4 DAF instead.

I also picked up a UV filter...

Happy John! :D

Very nice! I've a feeling f/1.4 is the fastest you can get a Nikon camera, due to the size of the mount and the distance from the sensor/film, so you can't get a faster lens!

I've also a feeling that Edd is correct in this.
Let us know how you get on with the lens, John.

So when's the world going to implode??? Two of my suggestions have not received mass-criticism today - something's not right!

Definitely! I found that once I'd used my kit lens to get to know my camera's controls, the nifty-fifty was really great for learning how to take decent pictures. By offering such a massive aperture, and removing any element of zooming, it made me focus on composition and the like.

I will let you know how I get on with it. The youngest has her swimming lesson after school, but I'll try and take some test shots when she gets home and get them uploaded a.s.a.p.

I won't be able to upload them until tomorrow thjough, as I've gone over my monthly limit on Flickr

Recently took delivery of a couple of 3-stop neutral density filters (not grads) which should come in handy in a few weeks... :)

I think there are a couple of f1.2 lenses using the f-mount.

You could always delete it.

Oh, you can't, because I've posted now. ;)

I've been meaning to add my stuff to this thread, and as I've got stuck watching Columbo, when I should be going to bed, here goes.

Canon EOS40D
Canon 17-85mm (kit) lens
Canon 75-300mm f1:4-5.6 lens
Canon 100mm f1:2.8 macro lens
Canon Speedlite 430EX external flash and Stofen diffuser

Cokin P filter system with (at time of writing) 2 NDs and 2 ND grad filters

Manfrotto 055XProB Tripod and Giottos MH1302-652 Series II Ball Head

Bits and pieces that I have include- third party cable remote release (a fraction of the cost of the Canon model) Manfrotto hot-shoe spirit level and a bean bag from here http://www.camerabeanbags.co.uk/

I have a number of items on the shopping list for the near future, including more filters, a Gorrillapod SLR Zoom, and I would really like a massive injection of artistic talent, but I'll stick with buying DSLR monthly and live in hope that it will give me the advice and inspiration that I need.

Cleared out the carp room and I have found a Nikon AF NIKKOR 28 - 80mm lens with a 1a Skylight filter and a sun hood. :D

It was attached to the NIkon F60, but there is still no sign of the second lens which I thought it had.
