Hi all,

The Purple One and others from her department have rented the Proud Gallery for an exhibition in April.
Here's the blurb:
Quote:
This exhibition represents a collection of works by practitioners who are attempting to exploit the specific qualities of this most multifarious of mediums (index, trace, equivalent) as a metaphorical nexus around which they explore an equally diverse range of concepts. Here the image is transmutated like lead into gold to become a re-enchanted and numinous space.

They are exhibiting 3/4/10 to 15/4/10. There will be an opening (probably wine and possibly nibbles) on the 3/4/10 in the evening.

Facebook group is here: clicky.

I'm sure the guys and gals who are putting the exhibition together would be grateful if you could go along and have a look :)

Ben

Beg pardon?

Numinous? Transmutated? (Is that even a proper word?)

I'm sorry, with all due respect to the Purple One and her cohorts, whoever wrote that needs a lesson in plain English.

<translated> they have done some stuff to some stuff they have taken and are showing it. Some of it will be good some of it will be cack and some of it will make you go "eh?" <end translation>

I think it was the photography lecturer, or perhaps the head of art...

Can you get the Purple One to slap whoever it was, please?

Whatever lexicographical pedantry I can come up with, I hope the show is a good one for all concerned!

When I become king, idiots like this will be taking a long stroll on a very short plank.

:x

In other news, hope the exhibition does brilliantly.

One of the big problems with art is the people who put themselves in positions of "authority". Their heads are invariably shoved further up their own arses than your typical Tory MP.

After being asked the question "Do you think the posters look ok", I replied something along the lines of "If you want to attract people who are up their own arse".

I asked who their target audience is, so I think the purple on is going to have a chat with people...

Morning all,

If your around London over the next two weeks, you might like to visit the Proud Central Gallery to look at the photos. Entry is free, catalogs are £4 each :)

If you see a girl with bluey/green hair, that'll be the Purple One :)
