My workflow.
• Take pictures
//
If the pictures are on my Leica, I have to at this stage
• Import the images to Capture One (the software which came with the camera)
• Export the images as DNGs to Finder
//
• Load into Aperture
//
If the pictures are on my Leica, I have to at this stage
• Crop out some junk noise to the edge of the images which Capture One seems to introduce
//
• Look for duff ones and rate as 0 (this removes them from view but not from the catalogue)
• I may go and tweak the exposure and other RAW settings as I want
Optional:
• Edit images in Photoshop – some images go through Alien Skin’s Exposure 2 filters, which I really like.
At this stage, I may leave the images for a couple of days and return to them, and make more find adjustments. I notice, for example, that with my recent Barbican pictures, the skies are all blown out, but with some careful RAW tweaking, I can pull them back and not balls up the image.
• Upload to my
http://www.paulscrapbook.com site, and to Flickr where I can obsess about how many people have not looked at them.
