An update - for those that aren't inflicted by me on other social media sites ...
I bought more memory cards.
The trip now isn't as long as it was going to be when I was first planning it - mainly because it is a totally different trip - so I'll only need to cater for 12 days away and not the originally planned 18.
I'll have 6 16GB compact flash cards.
I'll be writing to two simultaneously and I'll have my iPad with me which will allow for transfer from two cards, which will essentially give me 4 16GB cards to fill before I failover to my emergency 8GB cards.
I'm hoping this will be adequate but I can always revise my plans before going and get more cards if needed. (8+)
