If you have the time/inclination, I'd be very interested in your impressions and perhaps some pics.

Digital Rev has also had their hands on one: http://youtu.be/btaesOmA_ro

Seems a worthy upgrade for the 60D, taking some features from the 7D. I'm not about to swap my 7D though. :) 8-)

Will definitely post in this thread. The main reasons for holding out for a 70D were the autofocus in video mode, the 19-point AF system from the 7D, and the FPS. Otherwise I'd have gone for a 60D.

Have already watched both of those reviews. I was trying to remain sensible and wait until Xmas.

D7000 is still a better bargain overall. Video AF on DSLRs is always wank. I can't see the 70D being any better.

The videos show it to be superior to any other APS-C camera. The D7100 doesn't have a vari-angle screen.

Maybe it is. Maybe it isn't. But it IS very expensive and not here yet. You'd be better off with decent glass...

So do I but I sometimes take video too. Just easier with one camera to do both rather than piss around with more equipment. Anyway, after delays, my 70D should arrive this week.

After much faffing about, it arrived.

Initial impressions - love it. It does everything I wanted. It feels right in the hand.
Weight - camera + lens is reasonable to carry around. Adding a flash on top made it a bit more heavier - certainly would struggle to keep it held with one hand for more than a few moments.
Build/quality - feels solid enough. The battery compartment felt a bit flimsy/plasticky, and the buttons on the rear dial are a bit mushy. But will live with this happily.
LCD screen - love the touch screen. You can touch a point to give it a focus point and it will track it both in video and camera modes. Feels a bit thicker and firmer than the one on the G12, but still wondering whether to get a screen protector or not.

Extras - I bought this over the 60D due to focus points, autofocus, touch screen and wifi. The focus points are easily selectable. The autofocus is near-invisible IMO. Certainly none of the hunting that my G12 did. Love the touch screen. The wifi - not had a chance to play with it yet.

Any questions or requests, please ask. I will try to take some pics tomorrow for uploading.

Spent time playing GTA so didn't go out with the camera.

Here's some pics of it though:
