As this is where most of you budding photographers hang out, this seemed like the most obvious place to post this (feel free to move it into Mac Software if you feel it's better suited there)...

Darktable: The free Alternative to Photoshop Lightroom goes Mac OS X: (info)

For those of us who can't afford, or justify, the price of Lightroom or Aperture, you might want to give this a whirl. Apparently, it's been available on Windows and Linux for a while, but has only just been released for Mac OS X.

Could be some bugs, but worth keeping an eye on it for the future I guess? Plus it's always good to have free alternatives! I haven't tried it myself yet as it's an Intel-only app and I'm still on a G4 at home! Might have a try at work though.

This looks very promising.
I may download and give it a go this weekend.

Also, I'm lead to believe that GIMP is going/has gone OS X native. The new interface apparently isn't as painful as it used to be.
