This is interesting

Is this the first proper camera to utilise the Android OS?
I haven't heard of any others if not.
It sort of makes perfect sense too.

I think so. And yeah, a very shrewd move by Nikon. Question is, can they market it right?

Realistically though, the way forward IMO is a 7" tablet with a 1/1.7" sensor, no/very little zoom, fast glass with a phone inside it. Then you have EVERYTHING covered in one portable box.

It makes sense on a point and shoot I guess.
Slightly unconvinced, but I can see it being popular where the youngsters are out and want to show people what they're eating or whatever.

Vaguely related: Someone's used a Pi mounted in a battery grip to do anything you can do through the USB port (tethered shooting, access images, etc.)
