Looks straight forward but I would need to have a lens and body that I would be willing to risk. I have no doubt that shards of plastic and or metal would be sloughing off the pivot point and migrating onto the innards of both.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
