Have you seen some of the specs? Quite impressive, all told.

Interesting that they've gone for more MPs and an average ISO range though. Still, for the money, not bad at all.

It's really aimed at the studio photographer, that has a command of the light available to them. Massive megapixels = greater sized and resolution of prints. A studio photographer won't really need a camera that goes to a bazillion ISO. (8+D Mark

But, with that thing, he will need a mahoosive amount of storage.

Shoot tethered, or use the recently released wireless adapter to connect to the computer.

I'd be tempted If I had the money.
I can't help but wonder if this means that we're going to see the price of the D3x drop?

Even so, the amount of space required will quickly run to many TiB

Not by much, I wouldn't have thought. The D800 is nice, but it's not threatening the same market as the D3x, IMHO.

Hmmm. Like how audiophiles ears can tell the difference between a standard kettle power lead and one costing £1000 maybe?

Reminds me why I try not to read the comments on those types of threads.

I tend to just ignore the comments on them too. I haven't even looked at them on that link.

The idea that it is a local mistake to UK and Eire seems a bit off when prices are rumoured to be also going up elsewhere. I've seen several comments suggesting it is because the new Canon has been priced higher and Nikon are just gouging what they can.

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.
