I have just found out this week that sevenbyfive.net has selected one of my pictures on their 33 Classic Mono Photographs :D

Here is the picture:

Photo taken on an Olympus Trip using Ilford black and white film. I am feeling a bit pleased with myself about this. I think the Trip stopped me sweating about the f-stops and the rest of it. It’s a one button camera - point, shoot and wind on. :D

My trip has died since I took this picture. The light meter seems bust. I need to send it away to be mended. I’ll do that soon.

Is the "analogue look" all in my head? It just doesn't look like a digital shot, even with the jpeg artefacts from Flickr. Maybe it's the lowish contrast making a highly angular shot look quite soft.

I've actually seen more than one person riding one of them there bikes. I always do a double-take though.

Congratulations on a good shot published :)

lol I meant the image, not the words. I'm not convinced the words didn't colour the image in my mind...

You'd traditionally expect more latitude in the exposure on film than you'd get with digital, so there might be a different 'look' to that which you might be used to seeing these days.
