How big are the files going to be though? You can only get so much space on a platter you know. Are we all going to end up having to buy 6-bay RAID arrays just to store our holiday snaps on?

Following the principle of a back up, a back up of the back up and one else where, I can see my collection of pics and some video projects crossing the 15TB mark inside 3-4 years.
And, let's face it, you don't need that many megapixels. I wonder how hot the chip gets.
I'd far rather have half the MP count and twice the ISO levels.

There are enough people in both the ISO and MP camps for the manufacturers to spot $$$.
