Silly question but looking at getting an external flash for the G12. Needs 2xAA batteries. Ordinarily I'd have gone for some duracell stuff or whatever else I could get my hands on but is there a certain spec/brand I should go for given that it'll be powering a flash?

Try what the manufacturer suggests.

I'd use the highest capacity rechargeables you can find, at least 2500mAhr. They'll probably fire more shots than a many alkalines, and be cheaper.

Flash eats batteries. Try Energizer Lithium or some good rechargeable ones e.g. at least 2000mAh

7dayshop.com have a few bits worth looking at:

Own brand 808LCD Fast Charger £7.99
Own brand 4 x 2900mAh £4.29

Or if you prefer branded ones..

Duracell 4 x 2450mAh £4.49
Ansmann 4 x 2850mAh £7.49

I can vouch for the 7dayshop NiMH batteries.

Superb they are.

Love this charger. Bargain. I did pull the back off fitted plug though, when I tried to unplug it. So that needed replacing. Other than that it's superb.
