Who's your favourite photographer, professional or amateur and why?

Mine's Steve Bloom ever since seeing his work in Leeds city centre, because his photos are not only gorgeous but they capture the character of the wildlife in them.

I've two people, neither particularly original, but...
Spike Jonze' skateboard photography was brilliant, good luck finding it though.
Annie Leibovitz, love her early doco-style work, as well as the later hugely sculpted, well budgeted productions. Found out recently that her first 35mm was the same model as my first 35mm.

I've been thinking about this, and I can't pin down one name that inspires me more than others.

Actually, I can, but you've probably never heard of him: Barry Norman.

That's the one!
I was trying to think of her name last night but couldn't.
Thanks for jogging the old grey matter, Simon.

Eh? No, seriously, not that Barry Norman. This is someone who does a lot of model railway photography. He's very good, but has next to no presence on the interweb.
