Right Uncle tsar got a photo to enter the comp re Lines (that is the good news)

bad news is photo was taken on a Canon 450d at the large setting so weights in a 4.6 mb

have tried different software including the Canon stuff and have tried resizing but it still 4.6mb

HOW can I lower this ??????? without ruining the photo :? :?

I would suggest considering changing the scale a bit. What I tend to do is export a RAW image as a 75% or 50% sized JPEG. In your case, export as a JPEG from the Canon software, then open it in a pixel editor (GIMP or whatever you have available) to scale it down further.

If you get stuck, I'd be happy to do the honours. I'll promise not to let on I know which is your entry when voting comes round.

It is, but it's not the large image I was expecting. Can you bung over the original one you downloaded from the camera, please?

;)
