I’ll probably do more, but I think next week is going to be sightly busy.

Try these abstractions:

and

I find the red/blue one works better this time. Possibly because of the colour choices in the original image.

OK, try this one. Red/Blue glasses only this time.

I’ve been monkeying around with Poser and I have a “rig” of cameras in a kind of preset for this kind of work. This is a bit of a test of that process, but it shows that it’s possible to have items appearing in front of and behind of the image plane (in this case, the screen).

Warning: I have coughed up for a Fuji 3D camera  . Avaiting delivery. After that, I’ll be able to do photos as well as rendered 3D images. You have been warned. :D

Is that ED-209 and a Dalek shooting at someone?
Awesome.

This one really jumps out of the screen, nice work. :D

Glad you like it. A lot of trial and error went into building the system that let me make that scene. I want to be able to pull the colours back if I can, which is a bit tricky as the red/blue filters practically kill them stone dead. The Channel 4 filters may help with that. I’ll have a test with that set up next.

Try this version with your Channel 4 specs. I’ve got the colours preserved as best I can with these, and the image still “jumps out” at you.

Image

I have been finding out some interesting facts about these yellow/blue filters. They are not as popular because of the very dark blue which causes optical problems in the image. As you get older, the colour blue becomes harder to see, and because anaglyph fans seem to be more *ahem* mature means that this kind of image gets harder to decode as time passes.

Try this one:

Red/blue glasses needed. You need to look into the image to see it properly, not at the surface of the screen.

At the end of the path is where I feel over on some rather slippery snow. I actually fell over twice and landed on my right shoulder quite heavily. Today it is very stiff, weak and sore.

Oh yes, that is excellent! It took my eyes several seconds to adjust, but once they got there - wow! Nicely done! :D

I have a 3D digital camera now :D I’ll post more about it when I have got used to using it – it’s a bit different to a regular camera and introduces some interesting concepts.

What impressed me about the camera I have is that it managed to capture the falling snow through the depth of the picture.

And I agree - some anaglyph images can take a little while to adjust the eyes to. I’ve been looking at so many through my life that it’s second nature, though some I find are hard to resolve. It’s all down to the parallax (ie the offset of the right image to the left).

Ok, try this one. A quick and dirty anaglyph (I have some software that does this for me automagically, bypassing Photoshop).

Image

Again, look into the picture. This time, marvel at the snow. It goes back into the scene. I was not aiming for this - it was a quick shot out of the door, but the camera managed to grab the snow in such a way that it’s held in space. It has depth.

In other news, I have a more predictable Poser/Photoshop system now.

Again, red/cyan lenses needed.
