OMJF that's good to know!

I used Google Checkout to test the delivery price quickly, which is also handy to know if you use it ;)

Mmm-mm. Goes back to day-dreaming...

Don't look if you are scared by large numbers with pound signs in front...

Alas, I've just seen the pre-order price for the new one: [Scary]

I knew it was going to be more than the current, and I'd possibly pictured it in the £1,900 -> £2k region, but my oh my! I can only hope their pre-order pricing is well off! Granted the reviews sound fantastic, but still! I'm still hoping to get it or it's pre-decessor sometime soonish, but it seems we're definitely going for the Mk I now. Maybe that'll get a bit of a reduction in price.

I thought the Canon IS was performed by the body. If this lens has its own IS then is this used in conjunction with the body IS, or do they conflict and one have to be disabled?

If one is diving so close to the limits that +/- 1% will make a difference then the error has already been made.

AFAIK, Canon bodies have no IS systems.

Yup, all IS is performed in lens. I guess largely because all EF lenses are compatible with EOS film cameras too. And it has the advantage of having IS in the viewfinder too.

Now that is confusing, I'm sure they did. However I've read so many reviews other the last 6 months I've probably shorted something in the grey matter.
