How do you cool your AV cabinet?

I'm looking for ways to cool my AV cabinet, my main idea is to install a PSU into the back of a drawer and cable PC fans into it. Most likely antec smartcool ones, the fans themselves have thermostats to increase speed as needed.

What sort of cabinet?
Mine open so I don't have an issue (except for my baby trying to lick the htpc)

At present it is open and still kicks out an imense amount of heat which lingers inside. I will be putting a glass door on it, that's why I'm investigating cooling. Also I will be adding an HTPC which will only add to the heat.

Is it open sides or a more traditional lounge style item?

I'd say perforated shelves & quiet 120mm fans mounted in the back myself.

I would like a store bought solution so it would be tidier but I can't seem to find one of those. Yes just a traditional cabinet with an open front. Need to get a glazier to do the door.

If you want to do it that way, don't bother with a PSU - just get a 12V mains adapter.

Wouldn't that mean opening and splitting cables from the adapter? Seems messy

I use low power components in my HTPC to reduce heat.
What's the specs & what else is going in the rack?

Depends how neat you are with a soldering iron.

I guess a cheapo PSU would probably be good enough and remove all this hassle - just seems a bit of overkill just to power a couple of fans.

We a PSU will only cost about £15, and I can always add on as many fans as needed.

will consist of:
AMP
Sky HD
PS3
Wii
AppleTV
HD DvD player
DvD Recorder
and HTPC when I get round to building one
