Anybody here replaced a hard drive in a HD box or a Sky+ box :?:

I found this guide - How to upgrade your Sky+HD's hard drive

I just wondered if anybody had successfully completed the task :?:

I seem to recall Mr Ark doing an HD swap. AFAIK, all went well.

Easy to do. Go as big as you can go.

Just found out you can do a straight swap on the HD box upto 1TB if your not worried about stuff on your old drive. currently my box keeps freezing so I'm going to try a format if that cures the problem I'm going 1TB.....

Yes I've seen the ad, £250 a piece!!!! Hopefully I can sort my current box out for £56 if it turns out only to be a hard drive problem.

What's the interface on Sky+ like?

I think Vigrin would really benefit if they invested in a top notch interface for their system.

They've got all the content of iPlayer, itvPlayer and 4OD available, but the interface is so bad it's painful to use!

Virgin would have a better system if they stopped pushing an analogue video stream to their customers and instead used an IPTV digital based system utilising the internet connection. Would mean that users could easily get another 5mb+ on their connection speed.

Would also eliminate how p*ss easy it is to use a listening box to get free cable tv (as in every single channel there) as the devices would have to be authenticated and approved.
